Sing the Song
The guesser holds the phone against their forehead, screen facing the room. Everyone else sees the song and sings it. They have to name the title or the artist, then tilt down to score and up to skip.
The loud version of Hum the Song. Lyrics are allowed here, except the title itself, which is enough to make some choruses impossible to sing.
How to play, step by step
- One player holds the phone flat against their forehead, screen facing the group.
- The song appears for everyone but them: title and artist.
- The group sings a snippet. The title is never sung: the words that make it up get skipped.
- The guesser calls out the title or the artist: either one is enough.
- Correct: they tilt the phone down. Stuck: they tilt up to skip.
- The group can sing several passages while the clock runs. At the end the recap lists the songs found and skipped, then rotate so every player takes the guesser seat at least once.
Variants
- Forced solo. One nominated singer per card. Courage becomes a skill.
- Lip sync. No sound allowed, only mouthed lyrics. The title becomes extremely hard to find.
Playing tips
- This wakes a flagging room better than anything else. Save it for the 11pm lull.
- Singing together removes the embarrassment. If the group is shy, make the first card a chorus.
